‘Aadhyaksharam’, the first letter writing ceremony

‘Aadhyaksharam’, the first letter writing ceremony is a unique tradition of CPS in which the toddlers of nursery class are initiated to write the first letter with the blessings of Maa Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and wisdom. This day marks the formal writing and literal journey of the children at CPS.

7th July 2021 was the day of excitement and exuberance for CPS and the proud parents who came to witness the auspicious ‘ first letter writing’ ceremony of their child.

The ceremony began by invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati followed by the address of Chairperson, Mrs. Alka Sharma who briefed the parents about the significance of this ritual.

After that the tiny tots clad in yellow clothes were made to write their first letter ‘ ॐ ‘ on the akshat (yellow rice) filled platter. The toddlers were guided by Mrs. Alka Sharma, Chairperson CPS , Mr. Deepak Sharma, Director Rockwoods High School and CPS, Mrs. Poonam Rathore, Principal CPS and Mrs. Krishna Shaktawat, Headmistress CPS. Following that, the toddlers scribbled the letters T and L (their first standing and sleeping lines) on a white paper with turmeric to be preserved later by the parents. The ceremony witnessed the toddlers bubbling over with excitement while writing the first letter of their life.

The ceremony ended with the blessings being showered on the toddlers by the management, teachers and parents.
